Birdies for Charity

The ALS Association is participating this year's Birdies for Charity program. Sponsored by The Houston Golf Association (HGA) the program is in conjunction with the Shell Houston Open, a PGA TOUR event held March 31 to April 6 , 2008 at Redstone Golf Club.

We have the opportunity to generate donations through this fun promotion and you have the potential to be the winner of a 2008 Buick Enclave. The car will go to the person who most closely guesses the total number of birdies for the event. In 2007 the total birdie count was 1651. The average number of birdies over the last 9 years is 1,636, ranging from a high of 1,856 in 2003 to 1,463 in 2001.

It's easy to participate in this unique, no-cost, no-risk fund raising program. You may pledge a penny per birdie or any amount you like, even a flat donation. You get 1 guess for each penny pledged or 1 guess for each $20 donated. 100% of the pledged donations come to The ALS Association.

To clarify:

Pledge per Birdie: One (1) guess for each $0.01 pledged
1 penny = 1 guess
2 pennies = 2 guesses
5 pennies = 5 guesses

Flat donations in multiples of $20.00
$20 donation = 1 guess
$100 = 5 guesses
$ 5,000 = 250 guesses
